Three Hills, AB- The Pilots came home to redeem their loss from last night. The Pilots and the Red Deer College Kings played another great game despite losing 83-63.

Tonight’s game was stopping AK Kazlauskas, Red Deer’s All-Conference Point guard. “AK was on fire tonight…he was everywhere…if we had contained him better like we had in the other games we would probably had won our first conference game” Coach Wilsman commented on the lose. Kazlauskas finished with 32 points. Point guard Tony Dornbusch led the Pilots again with 21 points. Matthew Dykstra had a great scoring game contributing 12 points. Darryl Babe and Randy Stewart added 13 and 12 points

12/06/03 PBC Pilots 66 vs Red Deer College Kings 68

Three Hills, AB- The Pilots came home to redeem their loss from last night. The Pilots and the Red Deer College Kings played another great game. RDC won 68 to 66.

The Kings took an 11-point half-time lead. But, the second half belonged to the Pilots. The Pilots played the best defense of the teams as the Kings could not handle the Pilots zone and that was the key to the game. “We really played well tonight defensively as a team…we contained the best post defense in the conference...actually two nights in a row!” mentioned Coach Craig Wilsman. It was unfortunate that the Pilots could not win the game.

Two late baskets from AK Kazlauskas (RDC’s player of the Game) were the difference of the game. Tony Dornbusch (21 pts.) led the Pilots again but missed a lay-up while being contested by two RDC players. Everyone was hoping for a foul but the officials were so far behind the play they clearly did not have a good angle to make a call.

After a timeout the Pilots actually had two shots at the basket, but both fell short just like the Pilots did again. “Prairie is certainly not an 0-12 team. They are going to win some games yet this season…I am glad it wasn’t against us” commented Kings Coach Craig Behan after the narrow victory.

The Pilots Player of the Game was Darryl Babe who had 18 pts., 3 rebs. 3 assists. “This is the second game in a row for Darryl to score in double digits. It was hugh for us to get Darryl going” Coach Wilsman said after the game.
